Last week we welcomed Lana Cuthbertson, Founder and CEO of Areto Labs, to the FIA Offices in London to sign the UAOA Charter alongside Project Advisor, Erin Bourke, and welcome, on behalf of the FIA President, Areto Labs to the United Against Online Abuse Coalition.
With misogyny reported as the leading form of online abuse in sport among our latest Barometer participants and Areto Labs’ own Global Hate Speech Index reporting that women sport teams and athletes experienced significantly higher levels of online abuse than men last year, we discussed the importance of raising awareness of the safeguarding resources and support available for individuals, particularly those from underrepresented groups, who find themselves in the sporting public eye.
Based out of Canada, New Zealand and Europe, Areto Labs will also contribute to our Coalition’s mission and insights as we seek to breakdown silos and encourage global collaboration.
